Moving from school into a professional work environment can be difficult when a student has learned the theory but has had limited exposure to how organisations actually operate.
Boosted Technologies provides free internships throughout the year to help students make that transition more confidently.
Our internship programme is not designed to replace university or college teaching. Academic institutions provide the education. Our role is to expose learners to the realities of professional work, responsibility, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and the relationship between different departments inside an organisation.
From academic learning to the workplace
A technology company does not operate through software developers alone.
Technology, finance, administration, business development, communication, operations, research, project coordination and other functions often need to work together for an organisation to succeed.
For that reason, Boosted Technologies does not restrict internship opportunities only to students studying computing or information technology.
Depending on available placements and the work taking place at the time, we consider students from technology, business, engineering, social sciences and other relevant fields of study.
The objective is to help interns understand how their area of study can function inside a professional organisation and how their work connects with the responsibilities of other teams.

Yes. Boosted Technologies does not charge students a fee to undertake an approved internship placement with us.

Placement dates are considered according to the student's academic requirements, requested internship period, available work and the supervision capacity of the relevant Boosted Technologies team.

Is internship at Boosted Technologies free?
Yes. Boosted Technologies does not charge students a fee for approved internship placements.
Are applications only open to IT students?
No. While technology is a major part of our work, an organisation depends on several professional functions. Depending on available placements, students from business, engineering, social sciences and other relevant programmes may also be considered.
When do you accept interns?

Where is the internship based?
Internship arrangements are coordinated through Boosted Technologies in Kampala, Uganda. The working arrangement applicable to a particular placement will be communicated to successful applicants.
Do you provide internship training?
The internship is intended to complement academic learning rather than replace it. We focus on practical workplace exposure, professional responsibility, collaboration and helping students apply what they have already learned in an organisational environment.
